We are excited to be returning to one of our favourite local venues, known for its warm atmosphere and welcoming crowd, The Bell. Weather permitting, we will be performing outside in the garden, making the most of the fresh air and sunshine (fingers crossed). It is always a great vibe, and we would love to see some familiar faces there.

While you are enjoying the music, do not miss out on The Bell’s legendary Sunday Roasts. Seriously, they are some of the best around. Whether you are a fan of classic beef, tender chicken or a hearty vegetarian option, there is something for everyone. Tables fill up fast, so we highly recommend booking in advance to avoid disappointment.

Birmingham's premier country songwriter night 'Nashville Sounds In The Round' in partnership with B:Music! Hosted by multi award-winning Gasoline & Matches, artists are invited to tell the stories behind their songs in a Bluebird Café style ‘In The Round’ session, stripping the songs back to their origins and transporting the audience right back to the writing rooms.

KONTRAFEST! 20th Anniversary Special
Instead of the usual 2nd Friday meeting, to celebrate this very special milestone, Kontra is holding its first ever one-day Saturday festival, featuring a selection of favourite Kontra acts, past and present, who have helped make the club so successful over the years. Running from 2pm to 11pm, it offers a mouth-watering line-up with something for everyone. The programme will feature The Rosellys, Flashback Photograph, Chris Conway & Dan Britton, Paul McClure, Mojo Mules, Stephen Tanner, Adam The Greek, Cordwainers and Kontra Band. The festival will be held at Kontra’s home for the last 10 years, Earls Barton Working Men’s Club, and admission for the whole day will be just £10.

New Folk Award winning songwriter, Rachel Laven performs a blend of Texas Folk and Americana music. A positive force of nature on stage, Laven not only captivates with her smiling lyricism, but with her electric vocals and accomplished guitar work. She calls Nashville, Tennessee home these days, but her roots are deep in Texas where she was born and raised. Laven is currently building a team to produce her third album titled, Hard Truths.
