Our Christmas Special at one of our favourite venues
This show is extra special for us because Becca and Simon both grew up nearby. It’s always a joy to come home, see familiar faces and perform for so many friends and loved ones in the audience. With most of our family and local friends sure to snap up tickets, it’s bound to sell out quickly.

Set beside the banks of the beautiful Boxmoor Grand Union Canal, The Fishery Wharf Café is the perfect setting for a festive night out. Al, Kate and the team will be there to welcome you with their warm hospitality and a fantastic selection of food and drinks. Known for their homemade cakes, locally roasted coffee, excellent wines, beers, ciders and spirits – as well as their rustic charm and cosy canal-side setting – they support live music here all year round.

Book early, join us for a magical evening, and help us celebrate the season in true hometown style.

The Lost Notes: Live in Concert + Special Guests The Rosellys (Duo)

£18 inc. per ticket commission

After their sell-out B:Music show in 2025 and winning the FATEA “Band of the Year 2024” Award, The Lost Notes return for a “Live Album Recording” gig. Ready your voices and come and be part of the magic!…. What’s more, the evening will be opened by very special guests: The Rosellys [duo].

The Lost Notes

As heard on BBC Introducing, The Lost Notes are an award winning 5-piece Folk/UK-Americana band from Moseley, Birmingham, renowned from for their energetic, joyous live shows with songs rooted in “three-part vocal harmonies that would make even a Beach Boy sit up and take notice…” (At The Barrier).”Coming across as a blend of Crosby Stills and Nash and the better acoustic elements of contemporary country, this Birmingham quintet have managed to pull in some jazz influences as well… worthy to sit with the best of Laurel Canyon circa 1974. The Lost Notes’ status as rising stars was confirmed in early 2025 when they won the prestigious FATEA “Band of the Year” Award.

Their songs range from the emotive to the light-hearted; covering the plight of bankers, greaseballs, snakes, Greco-Roman health and safety failings, mules, mermaids and the downright miserable.

“A live show by The Lost Notes is something marvellous to behold. Some bands have the ability to take hold of a room, turn it upside-down and inside-out and send everyone on their way feeling revitalised and elated. The Lost Notes have that ability… don’t miss them!” At The Barrier

The band are currently touring their third critically acclaimed studio album “GOOD LUCK SHOES”, at venues and festivals around the UK, Spain and Portugal. It was selected as Editor’s Choice by the British Country Music Association and was album of the week on British Country Music Radio.

Special guests: The Rosellys

The Rosellys are a UK-based family band fronted by life partners Dr Rebecca Rosellys (guitar, vocals, banjo) and Simon Rosellys (guitar, fiddle, vocals), joined by Simon’s father Allan Kelly (pedal steel, accordion) and father-son duo Matt (bass) and George Kirby (drums). Signed to Clubhouse Records in 2015, the band has released five studio

albums, including their acclaimed 2022 release On The Porch. Produced by Ron Rogers (T’Pau), the album earned high praise for its warm, fiddle-and-banjo-driven sound and the musical chemistry of a group 17 years in the making. Known for energetic live performances and genre-blending songwriting, The Rosellys seamlessly fuse British roots with Americana influences. They’ve performed live sessions for BBC Radio 4’s Loose Ends and are regulars on BBC Introducing.

Cottage Concert, Northampton

Date: 7 February 2026
Time: 20:00
Location: Old Village Hall, Charles Close, Old, Northants NN6 9RQ

Cottage Concerts began in the spring of 2014 as quarterly house concerts held at the delightful country cottage of Kev Buxton’s partner, Sandy Huddart, in the award winning village of Old near Northampton. In spring 2016, for practical reasons, we relocated to the nearby Old Community Centre, where they continue to go from strength to strength, featuring a mix of Kontra favourites along with some superb acts who we’ve been unable to book at other Kontra events. Our concerts have proved to be something very special and are enormously popular, regularly selling out. Donations for a typical Cottage Concert are £14-£15 (payable in advance) and include a two course home cooked meal. Old Village is approximately 15 minutes drive from both Kettering and Northampton. Our doors are open from 7pm for food and the concerts start around 8pm. People are welcome to bring their own alcohol, but some soft drinks are provided.
